Melissa's team won their game this morning, 3-2. They played really well. Because they won, they made it to the finals which was played this afternoon. They were up 2-0 early in the game but then I think, for all intents and purposes, they ran out of energy. They lost 4-2. It was hot and they were tired and basically the last 15 minutes of the game was a kickball game.

However, they played really well given that this team has only been together for about a month now. The team the played in the final was the team they played second yesterday and tied 3-3. That team has been together for a year. So we are very proud of them.

They received a nice Finalists cup and each player got a very nice medal.

 

 

Melissa is playing Challenge soccer this year.  Her team was designated as Gold which is the higher of the two levels of skill in her league.  Today they played the first two games of at least three games, maybe four, in an early season tournament - the 2008 Adidas Cup.

Melissa's team won the first game 4-3.  Melissa played goalie the first half and played really well.  She was scored on twice but they were close, tough shots.  The second half she played defense for a while and did really, really well.

We didn't get any photos today but there is another game tomorrow morning and if they win that, they will likely play again tomorrow afternoon.  I will post some photos soon (especially if they win!). 

Well, I've been a bit distracted and therefore, Hoffheins.com has been out of commission.  However, I am now committing to giving this new experiment some wings.  It will evolve and grow and change and defy logic at times but it will be the new (and hopefully, the last) place where our various blogs will live.
